Stacey and Clinton told me NOT to do this. They said with my wide hips, I'd look like and ice cream cone in this style of trousers. But I did it anyway! And I like it!
There is a complete tutorial on how I refashioned the thrift store wide leg trousers into some flattering new pants on my blog.

They look great!! I love how you styled them!
I love Stacey & Clinton, but these trousers look a 100 per cent better tapered, you look slim & trim. I've been doing this to make my own skinnies that way I can adjust the snugness to my own liking.
i think you look great in them! nice refashion!
Stacy and Clinton would be wrong. Besides, they always tell people to wear clothes that actually fit them and to find a good tailor. I'd say you did just fine. (Besides, I think Trinny and Susannah do a much better job!)
Great job!

Look good to me! Thanks-Seeks, EOD
I don't see an ice cream cone! Nice job, they look waaaay better!
You look great! I think the sizing to fit you is the most important thing- and you did a great job with that.
I had tried to wear wide-legged trousers in the past and felt they overwhelmed me, even after visiting a tailor (I am a little short). A few months ago I found two in wool which fit just like they were made for me. It turned out they were petites, and that meant the waist and the hips and the bottom part were in the right place.
