Necktie Refashions

Do any of you refashionistas out there ever wonder what to do with the leftovers from your refashions?
Do they end up cluttering your craft room and driving you crazy?
Well I know that's true for me, but today I decided to do something about it!
For my daughter's last birthday I made her this adorable necktie skirt out of a bunch of my husband's ties that he no longer wore, plus some that I thrifted…

I loved the way she looked in it so much, that I decided to make her a tie skirt for Christmas (using Christmas ties…

I also made some tie pouches for Christmas presents for some of the guys on my list last year…

After making the skirts and all of the pouches, I was left with all of these leftover tie scraps that have been cluttering up my craft room since December!

Yikes! Whatever will I do with all of these?
I decided to start decluttering my craft room from these tie scraps by making them into flower pins and necktie necklaces…

Fancy shmancy
I love how quick and easy both of these tie projects were!
It's always nice to find creative ways to use up scraps!
Question: Do you have any creative ways to use up your fabric scraps?
I'd love to hear about them!
If you'd like to see more details from these projects, check out the Diary of a MadMama blog.

Funkalicious all 'round!

I inherited 31 ties of my grandfather's a while back and have yet to do anything with them. Thanks for the ideas!

:) You're welcome!
That's cool!
I was given some of my grandpa's old jeans after he passed away, and I made a couple of denim quilts out of them. I'd love to see what you end up making the ties into when you've finished! :)

I love the tie neckline. Could go really elegant or totally funky with that.

Thanks Suzanne! It was so much fun (and so easy) to make that I want to go find some more neckties to make the wider version! :)

Fantastic ideas to use your scraps! I recently started using my 100% cotton flannel scraps (leftovers from making kids' clothes) to make sanitary pads. They are working out okay so far!
