In many ways this tee shirt refashion was a disaster and during various stages I was almost ready to throw it away.....but in the end, it all came together. So what was an epic fail during the creative refashioning process is now something that I love and will wear again and again.
So I started with this thrifted tee.....Love the print but the colour is too bland and boring.
Yikes!!!....my tumeric spice dye job is an epic fail.
After a multitude of different processes.....this is the final result and I love it.
To see every painful step.....come and visit me at my refashion blog

Oi! None of this 'painful step' stuff, you!
I know what you mean about these things having to go through assorted incarnations before you get to the end. Maybe refashioning isn't the destination but the journey?

Totally....refashioning is all about the journey. It is kind of like calligraphy which is 90% preparation and 10% application. The joy in refashioning is in the creative process and quite often the problem solving steps. There are two types of refashioners. The first type see a refashion on a medium such as Refashion Co-op and then gather up the materials to follow the project step by step. The second type(which is the group I fall into)see a piece of vintage fabric for example and buy it with no project planned. The piece of fabric sits on the shelf until an idea germinates which then turns into a refashion. Anyone who follows me will see that I write inadequate tutorials. For me it is about feeling the project. It is about embracing the creative process and all the challenges that it throws my way. Therefore in my case, tutorials are kind of redundant. Thanks for the opportunity to discuss. What does everyone else think?
Looks like it was worth all the effort! I love it. :-) x
