Curtain Samples to Thirteen Tutus

This is a story of a bunch of curtain samples which whished to become famous and dance and twirl on a stage. So they went to a kindergarten and started to scream "Cut me! Cut Me!" until a teacher heard them and gave them to me, asking me to transform them into

thirteen tutus for the End-Of-School Recital!

Here's the "before":

And here are the "after":

Wow, those little ones will be soo excited to wear these!
the knot first is such a clever idea.

These look gorgeous! Would love to see them "in action," though!

Thank you @sandy and @Julia for your comments! I found it was the simpler way to obtain full but stable tutus! And I'm waiting to see them in action me too... i'll take some pic, if I can!!!

Very cute. Good idea with actually stitching the pieces down on the elastic. I made one of these a while back and it drove me crazy trying to keep the material nice on the elastic. I gave up in the end.

I agree with Adele; I've also made these with knots, but never thought to sew them down. Good idea! I bet those kiddies were thrilled! And what a good mamma you are! :) lisa

@Adele and Lisa: the idea originally came from my daughter's teacher, very practical woman!!! And it's a GOOD idea, indeed!
