Thank you @sandy and @Julia for your comments! I found it was the simpler way to obtain full but stable tutus! And I'm waiting to see them in action me too... i'll take some pic, if I can!!!
Very cute. Good idea with actually stitching the pieces down on the elastic. I made one of these a while back and it drove me crazy trying to keep the material nice on the elastic. I gave up in the end.

I agree with Adele; I've also made these with knots, but never thought to sew them down. Good idea! I bet those kiddies were thrilled! And what a good mamma you are! :) lisa
