I looks much better with that length. An no one it obligated to wear clothes that are more revealing, than they feel comfortable with.
By the way, for a lot of people the most flattering length is slightly above the knee, like in your skirt. Shorter than that, and it will hit where the thighs widen and make them look bigger (unless you are really thin).

Thank you Saga! Yes, you are right. I think I would look more boxy if it was shorter.
Be as bold or un-bold (Italic? Underlined? Maybe I've confused myself.) as you like. Looks great to me!
