I started with the longer dress & cut out shoulder pads right away. (I hate those things!) Next, I cut the length and bunched the extra fabric around the waist to create a gathered look. I sewed it down and took out the zipper. I left the dress bow tie on so I could choose to leave the jacket open or closed. I love both, but the open look is my personal favorite. Old Fashioned Dress to Jacket
This one was fun to make, and I have a little extra fabric left to make a headband for my daughter.
