The Button Down Dress/Jacket

Hello Refashion Co-op. This hand-me-down dress was a little tight on top for me. I really liked the idea of making it into a jacket-shirt and wearing it open.

I cut the top of the dress off and hemmed it. I used the hem at the bottom to make a matching belt.

 I wasn't sure what to do with the ends of the belt. I stitched the ends at the back and added a couple buttons to make it look more finished. It also kept the ends out of the way. I liked that it looked a little like a trench coat.
