What do you do if you don't like a piece of clothing you got as a gift? Give it further, put it away and never look at it again? Probably all of the above, depending on what is in question. There are funny pieces with potential though. You can't really use them as is, but with a little tweaking they can become really cool.

Too awesome for my shirt
I am a sewer since I was 16 years old. I used to sew all kinds of clothes, even suits...but knits - NEVER|. Too scared to fail! Last weekend I finally took all the courage I had in my body, 2 of my old T-shirts, and made a brand new T-shirt for my son. And it is AWESOME! Just as it should be for that little man.
One really old ribbed top and a statement T-shirt I loved, but not on me. Combined they look perfect on my little boy. Visit Bag of Pretty for more details.
Where do you stand with knits?

Golden girl pants
I used these as a basis.
The bow is cute, isn't it? My cuff didn't line up perfectly on this side so I had to hide it with something.

Romantic little number
Hi, Bag of Pretty calling again!
My Internet died...for the whole day. I had some serious abstinence symptoms when my babysitter showed up with a funny looking pullover and a lot of hope.
My last grownup sewing project was a spring top for the Spring top sewalong, but I am not too crazy about sewing for myself, so this was a super-cool challenge for me and it turned out to be so much fun too.
I am happy to say I made a cute little vest, and no cutting was involved, none at all.
For more photos jump over to mine and while you are there do monster-up. Happy Halloween!

Last years tights for the fall
We are still in full time summer mode, but we've been having windy weather for 3 days in a row now and our beanie is being used to its full potential. And even though I know the sun will come out again soon and we will still be needing window shades (BTW, you can win a pair now over at Bag of Pretty) and swimming trunks, I couldn't help but browse my warmer weather projects and I happened to stumble upon one that I love a lot. So practical and easy.
I am sure most of you here on Refashion Co-op hate throwing stuff away. It is especially painful with kids, because they grow out of their clothes long before those are worn out. Some stuff can be handed down or saved for the next kid, but some just can't, and I am still not keen on throwing them in the trash can.

These are great for fall and spring, because my son can wear them in the morning when it is cold, but take them off if we are having sunny and warm afternoon, and he will still have his socks on, no need to carry a spare.
If you desperately want to lengthen your summer feeling visit my facebook page. I am giving away one seashell ring to one of my fans.

Onesie to beanie
Hi all, I am Petra from Bag of Pretty and I am back with a spontaneous kiddo refashion. We are spending some time at the seaside again and we woke up to strong wind today. Since wind was not going to keep my 3.5 year old inside I was in serious need of a beanie.
Baby sons soon-to-be-outgrown onesie (size 3-6 months) turned out to be great basis and it led me from this:
to this
Needles to say, this was all sewn by hand:)
For more head gear inspiration see my Double-layer knit hat. C U!

Yesterday was Camera day
Hi all! I am Petra, from Bag of Pretty and this is my first time here.
It si hot and busy in my world, and I love quick and effective project that make me happy, and other people smile.
So here it goes:
White top with huge armholes (no idea why, the size was fine, but it was cheap and really comfy)
Resized from the outside. You know, so the seem stays visible and the top looks as if it was turned inside out!
Now for the 'make you smile' part, I ironed on a very cool applique by Funkytime and ombred by low printer cartrige...and voila, I got to wear it the same day!
