Floral in the Winter

Hey y'all! This is going to be a pretty easy refashion, so I'll just jump right into it!

This dress didn't need very much work. Look how pretty that pattern is! It already had waist ties to cinch, but the length wasn't right.

All I did was chop off a few inches and finish with a rolled shirt hem! Easy peasy! I have more complicated refashions coming up, but sometimes the most simple turn out so pretty!

MuuMuu to Pretty Polka Dots

Not the best quality photo for the before, but you get the gist. Too big, too long, too much polka dot muumuu type dress. So let's make it more flattering!

Lil' run down of what I did:

+ Cut the sleeves off and refashioned into capped sleeves
+ Sewed darts down the sides to make it more flattering and fitted
+ Cut quite a few inches off the bottom and sewed a new shirt hem
+ Made a pointed belt out of the leftover fabric

And here's the before and after side by side!

Thanks for reading!

Hello from Dramatic Attic!

Hey everyone! I'm a new contributor here! My name is Rachael and I blog over at Dramatic Attic.

I refashion vintage, mostly dresses, blouses, and skirts. I love putting a new quirky spin on an old piece, while keeping its integrity. Sometimes they are very simple changes (like the before and after below), and sometimes they are more in depth.

I'm a fashion design major at Middle Tennessee State University, and I can't wait to share all my creations with y'all!
