Wee Willy Winky Dress: REHASHED

Hello refashionistas! When I found this sleepy dress in a thrift store, I knew it could be turned into something amazing! Just look at that lace and embroidery detail, and the light gauzy fabric was perfect for Summer!

Blue Gingham Dress: REHASHED

This dress started out looking like something to sleep in. If you sleep alone. Definitely not something to wear outside the house! Now it's a sweet little Summer dress, I love how it turned out!

Frumpy Blue Nightmare Dress: REHASHED

Hi everyone! Since opening my new shop I have had lots of time on my hands for sewing projects. When I picked up this little number at a thrift store last year, I loved that blue color and floral print so much! I knew I could do something with it. Here is what I came up with...

I really love how this one turned out! So perfect for Spring. If you like this vintage refashion, check out my blog at www.lovestreetsalvage.com for details on this and others. You can also follow me on Instagram for more current updates at @lovestreetsalvage

Puffy 80s Dress: REHASHED

Hi everyone! When I saw this dress in a thrift store this Winter, I knew it would make a great rehashed Spring dress! I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it yet but I knew one thing, that print was amazing. The final product actually came out much different than my original plan but I love how it turned out! It's a little "young" for me but I hope someone will love it!

Fugly Floral Dress: REHASHED

The fabric on this dress was so amazing that I didn't even realize just how ugly it was until I actually tried it on. Yuck! That is my hurl face you are seeing here. I did so much to this dress, I ended up refashioning it again when I thought I was done. I love how it turned out though, well worth it!

"Wholesome" Schoolgirl Dress: REHASHED

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been absent for so long... here is a refashion I did just before Christmas. I simply raised the hemline to make it more...flirty :) So there you go! What should I do with all that leftover plaid goodness??

Ultra Hideous Ultrasuede: REHASHED

Hello, I am getting sort of behind in my posting here and on the blog so I decided to show you 2 of my recent refashions today in an effort to get caught up!

These 2 dresses both came from the same estate as the pink one I did awhile ago, the one with the cute little lace collar. If you would like to see more details on these refashions and other vintage refashions, please visit my blog at www.lovestreetsalvage.com, or follow me on Instagram!

Mixed Up Maxi Dress: REHASHED

This 1970s maxi dress had a lot going for it but it did need my help. That thick polyester is not ok as a maxi dress even in the dead of Winter as far as I'm concerned! So with a few small changes I turned it into this!

Please visit my blog at Love Street Salvage to see why I prefer to use the word "rehashed" and to see before pics of what I am currently working on!

Frumpy Plaid Dress Refashion

Hi everyone! It seems like forever since I posted anything here. I have been so busy with markets and   the vintage clothes I've been finding lately have just been so perfect as they are, they haven't needed my help! Until I spotted this in a thrift store last week...

This one was so much fun and I love how it turned out! I even got to wear it once before it sold, yay! If you would like to see details on this and other vintage refashions, and some pics of my most recent market, visit my blog at Love Street Salvage

Maternity Dress Refashion

This dress almost got left behind, JUST because it was a maternity dress. But I saw something special in the dress, so I got over it and got to work!

You probably thought I would have removed that collar, right? Wrong! I love that yoke and collar! And those ruffles! I loved most everything about this dress really, it was just the sleeves and awkward length that were making it unwearable! Now I absolutely love it. How cute would this be with some boots and tights? For details and more pics, please visit my blog at Love Street Salvage

Polyester Nightmare Dress

When I found this dress at an estate sale, I immediately loved the psychedelic print and the colors on the skirt! It was also made of a nice, knit material. The top however, ugh. It was a thick, itchy ribbed polyester. And the high neck and long sleeves made it totally unwearable! So, I turned it into this lovely caftan style dress, perfect for finishing out the Summer!

ANOTHER Polka Dot Dress Refashion

By now you might have noticed that I have a thing for polka dots, especially tiny ones. The collar on this dress, the cute pearl buttons and the polka dots were what got my attention when I found this in a thrift store last week. Here is what I have done with it...

It's probably a good thing this one doesn't fit me or I would be keeping it for myself! For details on this refashion or to see others, please visit my blog at Love Street Salvage

Red Polka Dot Dress

There were lots of things I liked about this dress when I found it... I loved the color, the mini black polka dots, the nice cottony fabric. It even had pockets! However, the mandarin collar, sleeves, and length of the stress just were not working! This one gave me some problems but I love how it turned out!

Sweet Floral Sundress

When I found this 1970's polyester dress in a thrift store, I loved the floral print and the cute little green buttons, but the rest of it had to go!

A little makeover and I was able to turn it into this sweet little sundress, perfect for Summer!

Blue Polka Dot Dress

This handmade 1980's little number had several things going for it... the navy blue color, the tiny white polka dots, the sheer, cotton fabric, I could go on. However, the length was all wrong and it was a frumpy mess!

I removed the sleeves, took up the length by about 8 inches, and used the scrap to make a nice sash. Now I have this!

I love the inverted pleat in the front as well. It's light and airy and perfect for Summer!

Shorter is Sweeter!!

It's always amazing to me how much of a difference simply taking up the length can make in a garment. These 2 refashions were simple, and now I have 2 cute new Summer outfits from something I would have never worn before!

I added a matching sash to this one, made from the scrap. It adds some definition to the waist, although I think I prefer it without the sash!

Refashioned Vintage Sundress

This 1970's sundress really was fine just the way it was, but the awkward length with the huge ruffle at the bottom just wasn't cutting it.

I actually had it for sale in the Etsy shop for awhile, but it wasn't selling and I kept thinking about taking off that ruffle so, today was the day!

So much better! It was an easy fix that only took about an hour and made such a huge difference! This dress will be coming with me to the flea market tomorrow, hopefully this refashion will help it find a new home!

Vintage Long Sleeve Blouse to Tank

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I've posted, I've recently quit my office job and am finally able to focus on my passion which is selling vintage clothes!! And refashioning some of them, of course. Recently I have been working on refashioning these long sleeve blouses into flowy tank tops which are perfect for summer.

This one became...

This!

And this one...

This!

And this one I didn't take a before picture of, but you get the idea... long sleeves, collar...take them off and you have...

Something like this! For this one, the front actually became the back, so there are buttons down the back, so cute! I ended up selling 2 of the 3 at the flea market yesterday. I was kind of sad to see them go (before I even got to wear them!), but the flea market was amazing! I actually received multiple offers from people with storefronts wanting my clothes to sell there.  I met so many great people that share my love for vintage clothing, sold so many great pieces, the day was a complete success!! Very reaffirming of my decision to quit my office job and chase my dreams, after all, we only live once right? Why not spend it doing what makes your heart sing?
