The rest of the story
So remember when I made a skirt from this big floral monster?
I'm sure you're all dying to know what happened to the top half.
Well I made the front the back, pleated the shoulders and chopped off the sleeves. The result:
A lovely floral top!
P.S. I'm selling this top and a few other trinkets in my new etsy shop. Check it out :)

Shabby Apple Re-make
So this isn't really a refashion, but I did get the skirt fabric from a thrift shop, so I guess it counts, right?
Basically, I wanted to recreate this dress for a friend:
I struggled with finding a good bold stripe for the skirt and finally settled for thinner stripes. I ended up with this.
For more details about the process, you can check out my blog!

Vintage Skirt
My latest refashion involved turning this big ol' nightdress thing into a lovely skirt with a 50's-ish feel.

Yes, it was as easy as it looks, but if you want to see the details of how I did it, go HERE. :)

Summer Skirt
Found this soft, stretchy remnant piece, and knew I could turn it into something great for the summer.
So I did! The weather here in Arizona is just begging for cute and comfortable skirts... I think I need 12.
It's great as a swimsuit cover. If you want to make your own, just follow the easy peasy instructions. :)

A little sparkle
Soooo inspired by this tutorial, I turned a plain striped shirt into...
I did every other stripe instead of every stripe, but I think it's cute either way :)

A little fix
I tend to spill a lot (not so coordinated) But instead of throwing away all the clothes I ruin, I find ways to "make it work!"
Spilling bleach on one of my favorite tank tops was no exception. All I needed was a bit of lace, and.... Good as new!

My first post
I posted this and then decided maybe I should introduce myself first :) I'm Natalli, student at BYU in Utah, teaching myself to sew on the side. I post my random thoughts and personal life on my personal blog and some craft projects, recipes, etc. over on a blog I share with my sisters, Sisterhood of the Crafty Pants.
This is my husband and I on our wedding day 1.56 years ago:
(My mom made my dress. She's THE coolest.)
O.k. enough about me. Now for a refahion:
I found this dress at a local thrift store. I saw past the frumpy, 90s silhouette to the pretty floral fabric and pearl+gold buttons.

*Forgive the headless photos, I'll work on my modelling face.

So I used a dress pattern to cut a new neckline and took out the sleaves. Then I marked 2inches down both sides of the whole thing to take it in. Shortened the hem and voila!
