Shirred Maxi Dress

I started with these two pieces, inspired by a shirred waist dress from SoCo Vintage:

(I ended up switching out the navy tank for a different printed one you'll see below)

How do you like my new maxi dress for our upcoming beach vacation?

Lavender-Mint Sheer Dress

I scored this dress at a local thrift store, much like most of my other refashions. However, the dress itself was about two sizes too big and a little too immodest (due to sizing issues) for my liking.

I took in the sides and added a wider lining around the V-neck for a little extra coverage in that area. For a trendy twist, I hemmed the bottom layer higher to expose more of the sheer top layer. It's a little difficult to see in the photos, but it falls just above the knee now.

Floral 4th of July Shirt

I bought this shirt with the sole intention of refashioning it into a pretty sleeveless top to wear for our upcoming 4th of July festivities. It came out exactly as I had pictured it!

Hope you all have a happy 4th!

Chop and Done!

My most recent discovery in my refashion ventures is that if there is something I don't like about the item, just lose it. In the case of this dress, it was those Gremlin-esq sleeves:

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees it...

Anyway, off they went with the help of my lovely scissors. I cut as close to the sleeve hem as possible.

And that's it! To see the full process and to get your daily dose of Jefferson Airplane, check out my blog All Glorious.

Good Riddance Mash-Up Dress

This dress came from two previous refashion fails:

The hip area of the white shirt was too tight and I was simply at a loss on what else to do with the taupe shirt after both a dress and tunic refashion fail.

After a little inspiration/revelation, I put them together using the better pieces of each. Here's the result:

Success has never felt so great! To read about the full refashion and the few other hiccups along the way, check out my blog All Glorious.

Baby Dress/Cover-Up from Toddler T-Shirt

Hands off, ladies. That cute baby with the cute baby belly is all mine. Trust me, once he throws a temper-tantrum you'll want to give him back.

Anyway...

Obviously, this 18-month sized shirt is too small for my now 2 1/2-year-old baby boy. I wanted to hand it down to my 7-month-old daughter, but instead of just handing it down I refashioned it into a little summer swimsuit cover-up for her.

Hope you're all having a good post-Memorial Day!

Men's Shirt Sleeve to French Pouf

Using the leftover shirt sleeves from this previous refashion (found here), I created a french pouf hair clip for my sweet girl.

This pouf can be easily made into a clothing pin or to add a little flair to your home decor. There are tons of possibilities!

Hope you're all having a great Monday!

Empire-Waist Onesie Dress

In my efforts to reduce, reuse, and recycle (my new year's resolution for 2013), I salvaged the skirt from a polka-dot baby dress (with stains around the collar) and made it into a new dress for my baby girl:

Onesie to Baby Ribbon-Shoulder Tank

Sorry I don't "technically" have a before photo of Shiloh's onesie. However, I think this should suffice:

This sweet refashion started when I tried to dress Shiloh in this onesie and I couldn't get the neckhole over her head. This should work much better and is definitely more appropriate for the 80 degree weather headed our way. (JOY!!)

Simplified Button-Up Skirt

In on of my posts last month on Refashion Co-op (found here), I refashioned one of my husband's old button-up dress shirts into a skirt. However, after a few attempts to wear it I realized it just wasn't going to work out seeing that one of the buttons could easily come open and reveal what shouldn't be revealed to the general public. (You know, there are laws against that and all...)

So I decided to refashion my refashioned skirt and found this process much, much simpler with much, MUCH better coverage in the instance a button wants to come unbuttoned. And it literally took no longer than 10-15 minutes once I ripped out the original seams (other than the side seams) and started over.

You can see the full "transformation" post on my blog, All Glorious. Hope you all had a great Easter weekend!

Refashioned Baby Cardigan

I should have posted this refashion for Saint Patty's Day. But alas, it has passed and Easter now approaches. Either way, this little cardigan I refashed for my baby girl is the perfect color for Spring. It's also long-sleeved making it even more perfect for Spring seeing that it is never really coming and we're all stuck in this perpetual winter.

The outgrown onesie/sleep-and-play prior to refashion:

And the super quick and easy refashioned cardigan:

Refashioned Button-up Skirt

This has to be my most favorite refashion to-date! Perfect for Spring, which most of the southeast US needs after almost being blown off the map yesterday.

Here is my husband's too big button-up dress shirt from way back in the day:

And here is my lovely new (un-ironed) button-up skirt!

Happy Spring Eve!!

Leg Warmers Refashion {fail}

These scraps were left over from a few refashions ago, and my plans for them were a super cute pair of leg warmers (aka baby legs) for my sweet baby girl.

However, a few minor issues led to my fail and I'm posting this seeking advice and suggestions on what to do next to make them work or what else I could do with them.

Here's the finished product:

You can find the full tutorial and fail on my blog, All Glorious.

Hope you all have a great Saint Patty's Day weekend! And remember, wear green or get pinched by those festive folks (such as myself).

NY&Co loose-fit tee refashion

My too big NY&Co tee. I had originally planned to refashion it into a Dolman-type shirt, but I ended up making it into a simple loose-fit tee since the sleeves are a little too short.

I think I like it more this way for my petite frame.

Check out the total refashion process on my blog All Glorious.

Hope you're all having a great Monday after springing forward!
