Culottes and Shorts Refashion...

Hi, Pam here from Threading My Way.

Both the culottes and shorts have been made from a pair of women's pants. This would have to be one of the easiest refashions I've done.

You can find all the details here.

Tom Binns Inspired Colorful Cameos

Tom Binns necklace

While these pieces are very beautiful, they just don't fit into my budget.
So I created my own  - - - >

This is so easy to do.  All you need is a cameo, some nail polish, and a chain or bead necklace.

This was one of mine before painting.
Paint the cameo with nailpolish colors of your choice.  I used a toothpick to help get the nailpolish in the little nooks and crannies.
Attach to a chain or beads and your necklace is ready to go!

A DIY Pencil Skirt Refashion

I'm a sucker for anything blue and white so when I saw this thrift store skirt, it was a "must have" item!
But it just didn't do much for me in the hip department.

So, I cut away the fabric from the waistband.

Cut off the excess fabric.

Sewed a new side seam.

Added a casing at the waist for elastic and wah-lah.....

A new summer skirt!

T-Shirt Recycling #3

This time, I have a refashioned refashion for you!

Originally this:

...became this sad little number that never saw the light of day:

...and now finally gets to live to it's full potential as a cool cowl neck!

Such a small change, such a great improvement. It doesn't always need much...

More at Of Dreams and Seams, and very soon the grand finale of my t-shirt refashion extravaganza!
Best to all of you,
Katja

Two skirts refashioned into a bag

You know that feeling when you find a scrummy piece of clothing in a charity shop and you just *know* that it will come in useful?

Well, I found not one but TWO skirts like that in the same shop on the same day!

What are the chances, eh?

I didn't really have any plans but I knew that they would go together beautifully.

As I only wanted to use one half of the pink skirt I was limited as to what I could make.

But I do love to make a nice bag or two!

So I set about designing a bag to incorporate both skirts.

And this is how it turned out :

It's softly padded throughout.  I even figured out a way to make ultra-padded handles which have a nice feel about them.

The top of the bag on the inside was pink and I also utilised the skirt lining as the interior fabric.

I had so much fun with this project!!!

Happy refashioning!
