The Army Vest

Hello Refashion Co-op. I made this sleeveles jacket/vest recently. I have been wanting one for a while but never found one that fit well. My daughter put these army green cargo pants in the give away pile and I thought the color was perfect. Could I make what I wanted from these pants? I could try! I found this inspiration on Pinterest
(Authors Note; I put in a new link.)

I cut the legs off and then cut the side seams open.

I stitched the legs together and had one large piece of fabric. This is the beginning of my vest. The drawstring will make the neckline and collar.

I opened the seams on the sides to make armholes. This was easy and worked well.

I used the back pockets to decorate the front of the vest and used a hidden drawstring from the inside waistband as a belt. It turned into a nice layering piece for cool weather.

I think you take the prize on this one. Who would have figured this out? Capsule Wardrobe Collective has the green fatique vest in the Fall capsule wardrobe. Yours is the cutest.
