Hello Refashion Co-op. Happy 2023! I refashioned this mother-of-the-bride dress into a shorter dress for New Year's Eve but what about the boxy jacket.
Before and after.
This jacket was very pretty but it was made of stiff material and the sleeves were a weird length for me. They would look more casual and less formal if I could push them up but they could not stay pushed up. The jacket also had no way to close. Did I want it to stay closed? I thought I did.
I made elastic loops inside the cuffs. They would keep them pushed up. I used elastic that was close to my skin tone so it would not show in the sheer sleeves.
I also added a snap in front to pull the jacket closed. I thought if I pulled the jacket together in the fron it would improve that boxy shape.
But when I used the snap, it covered some of that pretty beading. I wasn't sure I liked that.
I wore it open over a tank top that was the same color. I think the sleeves up helps this jacket look less stiff and uncomfortable. Thanks for reading along, for more pictures and details go to I Can Work With That.
