Cobalt Tank Top

I've been seeing a lot of this beautiful cobalt blue these days. Blue has always been one of my favorite colors. I am so ready to jump on this bandwagon! I picked up this super-sexy polyester blouse a few months back.

One cuff was missing a button, and the other cuff was missing entirely. Add to that some pretty rockin' shoulder pads and a zebra-stripe-esque tone-on-tone texture that is as close as I get to wearing animal print.

I decided to go with the old stand-by - Sorbetto - or rather, my lazy pattern-less version of the tank top, which I could probably make in my sleep by now I've made so many. It's just such a versatile garment. It can be paired with almost anything to completely change the look. The construction is simple, but fabric choices and little details can go a long way.

Back to front, dress

This dress was kind of ok as it was, except that I would rather want the slit in the front, than in the back.

The back

I lowered the back neckline, to make it the front neckline.

I also shortened the dress about 10 cm (4"), but kept the original hem (see more on my blog).
A few simple changes, but I wear the dress a lot more now. And no one would guess, that I made the back the front.

Should I remove the satin straps or leave them?

The dress kind of looks like something a nisse (goblin?) would wear, so I had to try a little dressup ;-)

1st Day of Summer in NZ

Hiya! To celebrate the 1st day of summer here in New Zealand I decided a sweet lil summer refashion was a must!
I bought this huge shirt for 50c and transformed it into a simple, comfy, throw on over your bikini mini dress!

I'm also currently working on garments for my 1st collaborative fashion show :)

Shorts from dress

 

 
This purple dress that was a hand me down was not really needed but I liked the fabric and need more shorts,

 

So I used another pair of shorts as a pattern and made some comfy shorts for the hot Australian summer.

Here's the finished product, ready for the next really hot day!

Refashioned Dress into Scarf

 

I refashioned on old thrifted dress into this summer dress, but grew tired of it.

 

 

So, I turned it into an infinity scarf. I am sure I will get a lot more wear out of it now : )
