Bustier line T-shirt Refashion

Howdy Refashionistas! I love looking at all the incredibly creative projects that everyone has been sharing on this community blog. It's so fascinating to see how different people apply their individual takes on refashioning.

Personally, I haven't been doing much refashioning recently, more straight-up sewing with reclaimed textiles, but I got a good reaction on my blog about a T-shirt I wore during Me-Made-June '11, so I decided to make a tutorial about how to make something similar using two old mens T-shirts. I know there are a million amazing T-shirt refashioning tutorials out there, but here's another option to give those unwanted T-shirts a new life!

The tutorial will be in two parts: the first deals with developing your pattern and prepping your pattern pieces, the second will concentrate on construction. The first part can be found here, and the second part will be on my blog within a few days. This project can be made from jersey fabric instead of existing T-shirts if you prefer, plus there are of course lots of possibilities for variation and personal twists.

Thanks everyone for all your inspiration, keep up the refashioning

I have about a bazillion plain Target tees that I don't wear. This would be a GREAT way to recycle them, and make even the snug ones feel fresh again! Thanks for sharing.
