Hello Refashion Co-op. I had a cute pair of rose-pink jeans from a clothes swap. They fit well and I loved the color. They were high in the waist and the pockets were located high as well. Really high. Like up on my lower back. I didn't understand why they did this. Who would want pockets this high?
I thought it would be easy to remove them and reattach them lower. I used a seam ripper to remove them.
The harder part was trying to decide where to put them.
I stitched over the old stitch marks on the pocket. I washed them to get rid of the old stitch marks where they used to be. They washed out quite well. I was happy.
It was a small thing but it made me more comfortable.

Great idea. I have never thought to do that to jeans pockets.
Thanks for sharing. I often just remove back pockets. Great idea to lower them.
Thanks Ladies! It's nice to know I am not the only one picky about pockets.

I don't know how old you are, but until Britney Spears, that's where pockets always used to be. Britney changed all that. On the one hand, the old placement made your butt look big because it placed the pockets squarely in the middle of the cheek. On the other hand, you weren't sitting on top of things when you sat down. So I don't know about the change. Everything has good and bad, I guess.
Great job.
