Happy Earth Day!
Happy Earth Day! We all celebrate Earth Day EVERY DAY!! By refashioning things that otherwise may have ended up in landfills!!
In the spirit of the season, my niece and I designed this AWESOME bag from my hubby's old t shirt that was about to go to the yard sale pile...
NOPE! I saw another use for that!
My niece and I have very similar interests, you would think we were sisters or something! She loves advertising that she recycles, believes in peace and love, and helping others and the environment. Super sweet 11 year old girl scout, I love her to death. :D
There are more details on how we made our bag at my blog

HELP ME PLEASE!
Happy Friday the 13th!!
I love spookiness, I actually watch a ton of horror movies to celebrate all Friday the 13ths..
uh hem... anyways... I need some help! PLEASE!!
My mother in law gave me these wonderful amazing leather pants. They are several sizes too small, but she knew that I'd love them for the material.
However, I'm at a TOTAL LOSS as to what to do with them!!!!
Since they are so small, a skirt or shorts isn't gonna cut it for me. What do you see when you look at these fancy pants?!
ANY and ALL ideas welcome!! Please please please! Creator's block!

Last Minute Easter festivities dress for MAMA
I don't have any before pics, sorry!!
There's more details of my process on my blog
But this is the only pic, I apologize for it's odd location and poor quality... But you can still see how cute my dress turned out :)
Top of an old dress sewn to a skirt that I folded under to make a bubble skirt.
Fairly simple, as I'm a beginner, but I think it looks professional...
from far away... LOL
either way, I'm proud of it and got lots of compliments. :)
Hope everyone had an awesome Easter!

I posted more details of the process on my blog
But here's the result:

Bob Marley Outfit
Hey everyone! I haven't posted here in a couple weeks because I've been working on this!!
I entered this into a contest. Didn't win, but I love what I did anyways :)
I know it's not exactly a refashion, per say, but I did you 100% recycled materials from my stash of scraps and such.
Couple more photos at my blog HERE

This sequel is better than the original
Heeeeey!! I felt the need to update the fate of yesterday's ring. It's a fairy tale, happy ending sort of story, don't worry!
First off, I found my 'before' pic of the earring ring I made yesterday:
So I decided it needed a little more.. flair. Here is the end result after digging around my craft supplies:

I'm new so I'll start super simple
This is new to me, I've never even blogged before! But I am been an avid "refashioner" since I was about 12, when I made 'new' bracelets from old beads and string from candy necklaces. And didn't even know that was what I was doing! My passion is jewelry, but I have recently acquired my grandmother's 1956 Singer sewing machine (I KNOW RIGHT!?) so I am slowly teaching myself how to sew. Maybe someday I'll show you the franken-dress I tried to make with it.. We've all got a franken-dress, right???A little intro about me: My husband and I are coming up on our 6th anniversary in May (WOO!) and we have 2 annoyingly amazing and adorable sons, aged 2 and 4.So, here is the project I did for my first post: I apologize, my 'before' pic is nowhere to be found.. WHAT. THE HECK. But anyways, this was an ancient earring, all I did was snip off the earring parts with my wire cutters and filed the edges down so I could pop it onto my thumb easily. I'm pleased that this poor little lone earring has a new life, I absolutely LOVE turquiose (even if its just turquoise colored xD ) More to come! I'm having fun taking photos of my process, its so neat to have somewhere to share and see other ideas and projects!Peace,Bat Ma'ammommymakesthingspretty.blogspot.com:)
