Rompers Revived

My son seems to be growing faster than hes gaining weight. So onesies and rompers are probably a bad investment at the moment. But what shall I do with those that I was gifted?
The cool thing about rompers is that you can make the shirt as long as you want and they're wide around the belly making them perfect for when my baby gains a little chub in the future.
Now, what to do with the scraps...

Particulalry withthe check fabric add soem trim to the shorts he wears the shirt with eg around the cuffs, add a real or mock pocket, ada strip down one or two sides.

Make a bow tie for future use

Trim a hat

make a scarf or hat or vest for his teddy bear

Could you make the bottom pieces into a cute pair of undies with elastic in the top, to put over the top of his nappy / diaper :) Just an idea
