My name is Sara, and I fell in love with refashioning a couple of years ago. I've been following the co-op for a long time, but I just recently considered contributing. This is my first time posting and I'm, well, a little nervous to be in the midst of such talented and legitimate and just...COOL refashionistas! I've already been inspired by you, so I hope I can contribute to this neat co-op here!
For my first post, I thought it would be appropriate to show something that was inspired by summer, but is now intended for transitioning into fall!
I started with this awesome thrift store find for $3. It's a linen dress in a cool cobalt blue. After I did some basic alterations, a dipped and splattered it with bleach! I was petrified, but it ended up looking like this:

Welcome! Your first post was fantastic. And like the others said you're brave for using bleach in your projects. I like the idea of using it but I never quite had the courage to do so. I love the refashioned dress. Very cute.
Love the final product! The bleach dip and splashing really makes it, for me :) Super cute now and just a little bit funky (which is what makes it cool). Welcome! Can't wait to see more ideas that I can admire (read as steal) ;)

The bleach technique has achieved a fantastic result. It softens the hardens of the blue and makes it feel floaty and soft. Welcome to this fantastic community. Never underestimate your creativity or ability. Refashioning is not about being the most competent seamstress,but it is about have a vision and reinventing a garment into something new.
