So to introduce you to a sort of "reverse refashioning," I'll show you one of the t-shirts I just made from a dress I bought at my favorite haunt, the local Assistance League. There are plenty of thrift stores in my area, but I tend to stick with this one for several reasons - my primary one being that all of the proceeds go back into the local community for assistance programs, which is a win-win situation as far as I'm concerned. Also, their prices are ridiculously low, so if I totally goof something up, I'm not out that much money!
The original dress - bright, loud, pretty colors, stretchy, and with a slightly metallic sheen to it in the right light:

A form-fitting, long sleeve t-shirt? Well, I can still (sort of) rock that look. But for now, I'll let the dress form do it for me:

Great top. Just goes to show that adding on to refashion can look just as fabulous as cutting off. Keep it up!
I have a sewing assistant too. But she is all grey and amber eyes. She just loves to hang out with me. :) Nice job!

Very nice! Sleeve drafting isn't the easiest thing, but from what I can see on the dummy, looks like you did a great job!

Love the refashion. The sleeves look set in perfectly and give the shirt a finished look. Just wondering what you did with the rest of your dress.
