What an honor it is to be invited to post my refashions!! Thank you so very much for this chance to show off my refashioning projects. My blog is called the Embarrassing Disgrace; its description is:
Photo 1. "Before"
The top piece of this prairie skirt came from a pair of pants. The pant legs were used as inserts to a different maxi-skirt I refashioned.
Photo 2. "After"
Depressed "failure" (quoting a relative) attempts to "refashion" jeans, "re-mix" her clothes, and "upcycle" her life. Self-deprecating, sarcastic, and cynical, I suffer with both clinical depression and with being "out of the closet" about living with mental illness. Teaching myself how to sew, too...Here are two photographs of the longer tutorial I posted today on my blog:

Too long!! I love my maxi-lengths; however, this scrapes bottom, even with 3" heel boots (thrifted Sporto's). Tomorrow, I'm breaking out the scissors to slice and to re-hem for fewer trip-ups. |

Better too long than too short. Easier to fix :)

Welcome to refashion co-op. I too am "out of the closet" when it comes to mental (and physical) health, though I don't talk about it too much on my blog. It's refreshing to see it normalized by others as well! And alongside great refashions!
