Clown pants get slightly less clown-y

Clown pants refashion

A couple of years ago my daughter received these very cute pants/overalls which were then baptized “clown pants.” They had a long torso going all the way up to under the armpits, where a ribbed band and shoulder ties kept it in place. They were very unique and fun, but while the model was clearly for the summer, the fabric bothered her legs in hot weather and the crotch was too high, making the ribbed band barely cover her coverables.

So off came the ties and the ribbed band. I chopped off a hunk of the fabric from the top of the pants, then sewed the raw edges of the pants and band together.

And we then had a slightly more normal model of pants with a ribbed band to keep it up at the waist. They are comfy and more versatile so they're finally getting worn! Without having to completely give up on the fun clowniness of them! More details here!
