I love dresses

A nice dress, but it was too big for me. Also the neckline didn't do anything good for me.

Into classic empire style. I feel prettyyyyyy.
I cut the neck opening square. I made the sleeves shorter and narrower. I raised the shoulder hem to adjust for my short torso.

And I took the dress in quite a lot in the back:

A sailor dress for a grown woman? Then it should be a lot more pinup-like!

I cut the neckline next to the decorative stitching, so it became square. I shortened the sleeves and inserted elastic in the hem. I made darts in the front of the dress.
I also shortened the dress, but kept the decorative stitching at the bottom. I did it by cutting above the stitching, cut off a few centimeters and sewed the bottom part on again.

In the back I doubled the fabric in two places and sewed the "darts" in place, from top to bottom.

Now I just need a pair of back seam stockings, my black stilettos and flirty attitude ;).

Thank you :)
Sara Gerard, you can do it too. The trick is just to do a little at a time: Take in a little, cut a little, and suddenly you have made something awesome.
