Hi!
I'm very excited to be a part of Refashion Co-op. I'm Hailey Aryn and thrifting/refashioning has become a very addicting hobby for me. I just love all the projects I have seen so far and hope that you all enjoy what I have to contribute. :)
I'm quite the novice in the sewing the department. Everything I've learned has been self-taught, so pretty much "trial and error". Most of my refashions have been very minimal like a beaded necklace added to a neckline or a patch added to a plain t-shirt. However, I recently be inspired to sew more detailed projects.
To get the ball rolling here is a sweater I refashioned into a cardigan. I wish I could find my before picture, but here is a link to what it kind of looked like (only not black and didn't have the extra white fabric on the bottom ).
I used leftover fabric for the vertical trim and two different knits leftover from a couple pullover vests. I wanted to sew buttons down the front but the fabric ended up making it too thick to work with. I liked how the pearl button turned out, though.
I think my favorite part is all the little hearts :D
I'm so glad to be here! Happy refashioning!
