Jeans to Skirt Refashion

Hello!  My name is Erinn from Sticky Genius and I am new here at Refashion Co-op.  I'm very excited to be a part of this wonderful group of talented individuals.

I think I will start with my most recent and one of my favorite refashions.

A friend of mine works in wardrobe in Hollywood.  He gets lots of extra clothes that don't always fit him and lucky me ... I get them, since he knows my love of refashioning and sewing.

These are a really nice pair of brand new, heavy weight denim jeans.  They were a little too big for me to wear as jeans.  So I decided to turn them into a skirt.

I found this skirt on Pinterest and used it as inspiration.

Here is the finished result!
You can find more details about how it all came together on my blog.

Front:

Back:  I ended up adding one more strip across the bottom on the back since taking this picture.  It was all I had left of scraps, but I felt it needed a little more coverage :).

On!

I love it!  What do you all think?

Thank you for letting me be a part of this talented group!  I am looking forward to sharing more of my refashions!

Very cool and different treatment of denim. Not at all what I expected....loving this version of a rock chick look.
