Hip bags are awesome for people who does sports, likes sportive style or just like to have comfortable bag, I love it for all those reasons.
I made mine from old leather jacket.

Hip bags can be very feminine as well if you add some nice accessories.
From my blog you can take easy pattern for it KLIK. From one pattern you can make totally different bags.

Concerning 'leather': I can't fathom either any waste of this valuable material in whatever 'old shape'.
Currently some 'aged' and buckle-belted sandals of hubby are playing a new role in doing up an old bentwood trunk for handle replacement ;-) !
Might come veeery 'expensive', since hubby might get a heart attack seeing this ;-) :-D
