Hi everyone, the idea of this refashion kind of grew on me. I'm not a star at detecting fashion trends, but when I first saw the slipover (back) in the stores, I had my doubts. Why would you want to wear something that would keep your arms cold? But slowly, I got used to the idea and could picture a preppy look with a nice blouse underneath. A few weeks ago I had my hands on this old salmon pink sweater and knew just what to do with it. So I rolled up cut off my sleeves and got started!
A simple but effective refashion this time, I hope you enjoy the idea!
If you're interested to find out more about this refashion or the word 'spencer' (Dutch word for slipover/sweater vest) or the French débardeur, please visit vermaakster.blogspot.com. Or if you think you can top the French débardeur, let me know in the comments! I'm alway interested in learning new words (it might be safe to add tips for pronunciation:)).

I made a simple elastic skirt to go with the sweater top. Thanks for reading along, for more picture and how-to details go to I Can Work With That.

Hello Refashion Co-op. I have had this blue polyester masterpiece for a while now. It seems homemade, and I always try to save anything homemade because I love that someone did all that work. But this dress was super scratchy. I could never figure out what to do with it. I didn't think I would want to wear it. But then I had an idea.
Before and after.
The sleeves and shoulders were the scratchy part. So, what if i removed them completely?
I cut the sleeves and shoulders off and cut the skirt much shorter.
The dress was much more comfortable now and I love the halter neckline. Thanks for reading along, for more pictures and details go to I Can Work With That.

Hello Refashion Co-op. I am really trying to use all the items I have been saving on my refashion rack. Some people have a stash, I have a rack.
These are all hand-me-downs and leftover pieces, before and after.
These bell sleeves were too long on me but a little elastic through the ends of the sleeves made...
Balloon sleeves. The elastic keeps them up on my wrist and I can use my hands.
This skirt piece is actually from a skort. I cut it off the biker shorts that it came with last summer because I wanted a pair of biker shorts. I still like them a lot.
I made the skirt an elastic waistband so I could wear it again.
This skirt was ready to go.
I think black is easy to put together so I really liked this outfit. Is it too Wednesday Addams?? Thanks for reading along. Go to I Can Work With That for more.
