how to sew reversible top from 2 too large blouses

How do you feel about Tomb Raider games and movies ?
I must say I'm big fan of those !
That's why  I had such great fun with making this  top  and styling it as Lara Croft. 💓
The best is you can wear it everyday as you want not only for cosplay conventions 😉

Jean Jacket Makeover

Last year I downsized my body, this year I’m down sizing my clothes!  This jean jacket has gone from a size 22 to a size 12/14.

This project is idea for a beginner.  It’s mostly just cutting off the parts that are too big!

I cut out the back panel and replaced it with black tshirt fabric.

The waistband was cut from an old pair of pants.

Copycat Plaid Skirt (and More)

When I saw this skirt on Instagram last week I KNEW that I had to have it!  It was $98 plus shipped!  I knew that I could make a LOT of cloths for $98 so I decided to see if I could make it for less than $10.  In the end it cost me about $4 in materials.

I wasn’t sure how many old shirts I’d need so I bought 8 from Goodwill.  My plaid purchase included shirts and old lounge pants in red, grey and black.

It was pretty easy to make a quilt from the shirts and sew a simple skirt.  The original version had too much fabric to be comfortable for me.

With a bit of tailoring, I made the skirt less blousy and added a pocket.

After the skirt was complete I found that I had a LOT of scraps left.  Here are the projects that I made from the scraps:

Not to shabby for an $8 investment!!!

Corona Formalwear

Hello Refashion Co-op. How are you? I had been saving this fancy pink dress for a fancy anniversary dinner. Covid-19 changed those plans. So what could I do with this fancy dress?

I made a huge change in the length of the dress. I thought shorter would be more casual.

I did not "hem" it. I melted it! I used the base of the flame to carefully melt the edge of the nylon fabric. It made the skirt lighter than a traditional hem. I tested the fabric first to see if it would burst into flames. I had fire extinguisher and also had  good ventilation. It wasn't a "safe" or "proper" way to alter a piece of clothing.

If you ever try this I am not responsible for any fires and/or destruction you cause.

I wore the dress with a simple white t-shirt and sneakers to make it more casual. I got Hawaiian shave ice. It was delicious!
