I started with this pink dress and some placemats. I found a dress on Pinterest that I liked a lot so figured I'd try my hand! It was a one strap off the shoulder dress so I measured with a shirt I already had and off went a sleeve!
Archie thinks I'm getting ready to play!
I took it in a little, shortened and hemmed the bottom, then started to make the layered flap for the top with the scrap from the bottom. I stitched it on and added the tassels only to find out...
That I hated it. It fits wrong and I was slightly frustrated so I seam ripped the tassels off and threw the dress back into my refashion pile... any ideas of how to salvage this sad dress would be lovely! Thanks for looking, and check out my blog to see the inspiration dress and more photos and step by step here!

I thought that the picture where you show the dress with one sleeve romved was the after photo. I thought it was such a cool and pretty idea with a contrasting strap. So I suggest that for saving the dress.
Yes I agree with Saga, just leave the "ruffle" of and you should be right!
That just happened to me! I like the contrasting strap :)
I guess I might be the odd one out here but I like the "ruffle" and tassels. :-)
