I couldn't not have this wonderful dress

I don't know what it is about old granny dresses, but they do seem to come in the nicest of fabricS. All I am doing with this item is removing the shoulder pads, the sleeves (then hemming) and shortening the length. You can't see on the picture, but at the waist is a lovely tie detail. I love it when a few small tweaks, make a whole lot of difference. I will pair it with a big brown leather belt at times, when I don't want to use the tie.

The dress looks as if it will be lovely, fab colours in the fabric. It would be good to see a finished view of it on you !

Such a lovely dress! So glad you saved it.
Clothing used to be made out of much nicer fabric. I cringe when I go to buy something new now. But clothing also used to be a lot more expensive. I'm not happy with the trade off.
